So, its been a few weeks since I last wrote on here. With the school year starting and all other things going on in my life I just forgot. But there have been some notable changes since I last wrote that I had made the decision to retire from our progression raid team.
The biggest change is that our GM, Ovy, decided to retire from the guild. Although I can’t say it was super surprising, it was still a tough thing to deal with. He had been a pillar of the guild for years and an example to all on how to successfully run a guild. As it happens, the mantle of GM has fallen to me for a number of reasons; I have raided with both of our raid teams, I have experience managing a large community, I was already doing a lot of managing for OE, and not least of all, I was willing to take the job.
So now I’m in somewhat of a weird limbo where I am the Guild Master of a guild with two raid teams, yet not a part of either. I am involved in the officer things and keeping up with both guilds, but it is a weird feeling as I try to figure out what I should be involved in and to what extent.
I have a few people who are in similar positions that I’m reaching out to in order to get some ideas and advice, but only time will tell.
